In March 2011 Denver Public Schools presented an update on our approach to a feeder pattern turnaround in Far Northeast Denver, including information on the new enrollment zone, our partnership with Blueprint Schools Network, community engagement, and updates on the new and turnaround schools that will be a part of the Denver Summit Schools Network.

In November 2010, Denver Public Schools presented an update on new school and turnaround efforts to date. The district also presented its regional recommendations.

In April 2010, Jenifer Jones, Executive Director, Office of School Turnaround, provided an update to the Board of Education on the Tiered Intervention Grant, to which the district applied in May.

In February 2010, district leadership presented to the Board of Education an overview on school turnaround, including context and the district's strategy, with more specificity in regard to decision making. The strategy outlines the district's focus on engaging stakeholders and making data-driven decisions. Information on the Call for Quality Schools is also a focus of the presentation.
February 16, 2010 Presentation to the Board of Education
In November 2009, Denver Public Schools' Board of Education approved the recommendations made by district leadership for turning around low-performing schools and for locations of new schools that are scheduled to open in the fall of 2010.
“These are critically important decisions that are the result of long conversations, difficult discussions, and careful consideration,” DPS Superintendent Tom Boasberg said. “Our absolute focus is on the decisions that will create the very best opportunities and the <script src="http://static.dpsk12.org/jscripts/jquery/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/langs/en.js" type="text/javascript"></script> very best schools for the children and families of Denver.”

In October 2009, district leaders presented an initial turnaround strategy, which included primary information being provided by the United States Department of Education, a key priority in the federal government's education approach. Details are provided on pages 15-28 of the presentation.
