About Montbello High School
Established in 1980, Montbello is an open enrollment high school serving the Far North East Region of Denver. Montbello is currently part of a turnaround process which has strengthened the focus on academic achievement and has provided additional on-site resources for our students. Advanced placement classes, electives, clubs, and other extracurricular activities are just some of the benefits keeping students on the pathway toward post-secondary success.
Additional resources and programs that are available include: Our Parent and Community Involvement Center, The Future Center sponsored by the Denver Scholarship Foundation, P.U.S.H. Academy, the NULITES Center sponsored by the Urban League, a vibrant music program highlighting our ever-popular Drumline, our high-ranked JROTC program, and additional in-house tutoring opportunities are available as well.
Teaching at Montbello
“Professionally, I have learned so much more this past year than most teachers because of the insurmountable level of resources being funded to our building. My exposure to the field's best practices, like SIOP teaching strategies and developing data cycles based on student needs, has truly made me a better teacher.
And perhaps the greatest attribute of a turnaround school is the strong bond that's formed amongst my staff and students, due to the fact that we're all working towards the same goal of achieving what everyone on the outside believed was impossible."
– Jennifer Mudlo, Math ELA Teacher
